Morphological, Phytochemical, and Photosynthetic Performance of Grafted Tomato Seedlings in Response to Different LED Light Qualities under Protected Cultivation

Healing and acclimatization are critical in vegetable grafting under controlled environments. Here, we investigated the impacts of LED light qualities on morphological traits photosynthetic performance grafted tomato seedlings. Seeds tomatoes “DRW 7806 F1” “Maxifort” (Solanum lycopersicum × Solanum habrochaites) used as scion rootstock were planted 104-cell plug trays into a mixture cocopeat perlite (volume ratio: 3 to 1). Survival ratio, above- underground growth, performance, soluble carbohydrate content, pigmentation, antioxidant enzymes activity evaluated following 20 days exposure different qualities, including white (35% B, 49% intermediate spectra, 16% R) control, blue, red, combination red (68%) blue with same intensity 75 ± 5 µmol m−2 s−1. The lowest diameter, leaf area, root shoot dry weight, SPAD value, highest length amount detected R-exposed Moreover, seedlings showed epinasty reduced performance. On other hand, RB-exposed plant fresh stem diameter photosystem II efficiency. In addition, superoxide dismutase was increased seedlings, while guaiacol peroxidase enhanced grown RB. conclusion, R B is suggested suitable spectrum promote growth
